A Peer Leader is a volunteer position in which WOW teens provide leadership each week, working with the WOW staff to faithfully shape the WOW experience for our guests.
Leadership opportunities include program responsibilities such as registration, inventory management, guest relations such as community building, preparing to lead mission sites, and other activities.
Peer Leader Requirements
- Attend one (1) Leadership Academy
- Attend the Team (aka Beach) Retreat*
*Those who cannot participate in the WOW Team Retreat in late May due to a conflict with school schedules may contact Pastor Amy Figg, Nancy Friedrich, or Angie Hamstead to negotiate additional preparation responsibilities.
Peer Leader Participation
Once WOW teens have completed the above requirements, they will be asked what weeks they are available to serve. Peer Leaders will be assigned their leadership week(s) by WOW adult-leaders based on their availability and WOW requirements.
Please note: Peer Leaders are responsible for their own transportation, Wednesday afternoon activity, and weekend housing, if applicable.
